Al. Boating Safely Course Aug. 6 in Orange Beach

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary instructors will present the Alabama Required Boating Safely Course on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7:45 a.m. ‘til 4 p.m. at the Orange Beach Community Center, located at 27235 Canal Rd. in Orange Beach. The course covers: Boat Terminology; Safety Procedures Prior to Getting Underway; Float Plans, Trailering, and Fueling; Navigating the Waterways; Navigation Rules, Aids, Charts, and Local Hazards; Operating Your Boat Safely; Docking, Anchoring, and Operating PWCs; Boating Laws and Personal Safety Equipment; Boating Emergencies; Safely Enjoying Watersports; Paddleboats, Hunting, Fishing, and Water Skiing The course meets Alabama’s and most other states’ Boat Operator’s License requirement.
