Billy Claus & his LuLuBelles visit LuLu’s Dec. 10

LuLu’s is known for a family-friendly atmosphere during the busy summer season, but the holidays bring two more reasons to experience the fun of LuLu’s – the arrival of Santa’s brother, Billy Claus, and a mid-day party for kids to ring in the New Year.
Billy Claus, the fictional character in Lucy Buffett’s holiday children’s book “Billy Claus and the LuLuBelles: The Story of Christmas Island,” arrives on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. Santa’s brother is allergic to snow and prefers the warmth and white sand beaches of the Alabama Gulf Coast to the cold and snow of the North Pole. The LuLuBelles are Billy’s own elves who bring holiday cheer to all and help Billy with the wish lists of all the kids he encounters. The fun starts at 1 p.m. and includes arts and crafts and photos with Billy Claus. This party will get children of all ages ready to celebrate the holiday season. Children are encouraged to bring their Christmas wish lists for delivery to Santa. The festivities end with the Nautical Nights Boat Parade at dusk.
Families and children are also the focus on Dec. 31 at LuLu’s with the 12th annual Noon Year’s Eve, the best daytime bash near the beach! Starting at 10 a.m., a sandcastle building contest, live music, face painting, a petting zoo, and arts and crafts, allows children to ring out the year in exciting style. At noon, the Beach Ball drops and Noon Year’s Eve is celebrated with kid-friendly fireworks (huge bubblewrap!)! Noon Year’s Eve ends at 3 p.m. For more info, visit lulubuffett.com or call 251-967-LULU (5858).
