Can you make bacon entree worth $100K?

Can you make a bacon entrée that’s worth $100,000? Executive Chef John Hamme (pictured) is making plans right now to prove he can win top prize at this week’s World Food Championship in Orange Beach.
Hamme’s Spectrum Resorts team is one of 430 from across the world seeking a major payday at WFC, where $100,000 is awarded for the best dish overall and $10,000 is awarded in nine different categories: BBQ, Chili, Dessert, Bacon, Sandwich, Seafood, Burger, Steak, and Recipe.
“Winning my category would be an incredible feat,” said Hamme. “But winning the whole tournament with the best dish? That would be a dream come true!”
Hamme has been with the Spectrum Resorts Team for a little over six months and has trained a team that works well together under pressure. Chef Hamme has competed in many culinary events and has brought home the coveted award of official dish of the state of Alabama in 2005. You can cheer on Chef Hamme by following him on Facebook or following the results at worldfoodchampionships.com. There’s also a good chance that Chef Hamme will be seen on TV, as this event is filmed for national cable television each year. It has been seen on the A&E Network as well as the Discovery Network.
