Children’s Literacy Project tutor training Aug. 11 in Lillian

Although many of us told our children that if they could read, they could accomplish anything, there are some children in Baldwin County who don’t get the support they need to be good readers. The Children’s Literacy Project has been helping Baldwin County students for 20 years. The 501(c)3 organization is looking for tutors to help them continue their mission to increase reading ability. The service is free to the students.
A Volunteer Tutor Information Session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug.11 in the Lillian Community Club.
Men and women who are interested in making a difference to children are invited to attend. Volunteer reading tutors will receive materials, training and ongoing support to help a child learn to read. To register and for information call (251) 929-8436 and visit AugustineLiteracyProject.com.
