Diamond Jewelers named SBCC Business of the Month
The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce has named Diamond Jewelers, located in Gulf Shores, as its Business of the Month. Congratulations to Diamond Jewelers. Chamber Membership Director Travis Valentine caught up with Stephanie Gatlin of Diamond Jewelers to answer a few questions.
TV: Diamond Jewelers has so many selections, tell me a few things that DJ offers?
SG: We are a family owned jewelry store in Gulf Shores, and we’re getting ready to celebrate our 70th anniversary, which is huge. This means we’ve done this a long time, and we plan to continue helping our locals and visitors for many years to come. Our business was established by the Goodmans taking annual trips to Antwerp, Belgium to bring back diamonds for our customers. This makes the experience of purchasing diamonds that much more special knowing we have hand-picked a diamond specifically for you. Along with diamonds, we carry a large selection of engagement rings to fit every style and budget. National known jewelry lines such as Pandora, Alwand Vahan, Lafonn, & Endless fill our cases with affordable gift options for every occasion. Aside from the beautiful pieces of jewelry in our store, we also have an in-house jeweler that can take care of any repair needs, as well as custom designs.
TV: It seems that you carry pieces that are extremely valuable and some great pieces that can fit a small budget. What is the price range of your products?
SG: We carry everything from 5 Carat diamonds to Sterling Silver gifts starting at $30. We literally have something for everyone and every budget. We have a large selection of diamond necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings as well as beautiful sterling silver pieces.
TV: Every time someone walks into Diamond Jewelers they are greeted quickly with a friendly smile, what factors do you think go into creating that kind of culture?
SG: We all truly enjoy what we do each day, and that shows when you walk through our door. There is such warmth that fills the store, and each person is treated like part of the family. We want customers to leave feeling like they have had a wonderful experience. It’s the small things that really make a difference in making people feel special.
TV: It must be so neat to be a part of so many people’s special memories like weddings, anniversaries, birthdays etc. Do you have any fond memories of helping someone pick the perfect gift?
SG: When I say we truly love what we do, I mean it. How great is it to share the happiest moments in a person’s life. We get to see couples from engagement, to having their first child. We’ve even been invited to celebrate in these special moments!
TV: Your Iron Bowl promotion is so much fun, tell me about how it works?
SG: The Iron Bowl promotion is AMAZING! We will be giving our customers a cash refund for any purchases made November 1st- Black Friday if there are 4 or more interceptions in the game! The rivalry between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers runs deep, so it’s no surprise that everyone wants to get in on the event! No purchase is too big or too small to participate. It’s a perfect opportunity to get started on Christmas shopping.
TV: What are the hours of the Gulf Shores location and can people shop online at all?
SG: Our normal hours are Monday-Friday from 9:30-5:30, but we will be open Saturdays from 9:30-4 starting November 19th. We are also available by appointment. We will be getting a brand new website after the first of the year. We currently do not have online shopping, but it is something we have looked into for the future. Being a destination store, we take phone orders daily and always offer free shipping.
TV: Can I have some Diamonds? It doesn’t matter how many just use your best judgement.
SG: Only if I get a few diamonds myself if we’re giving out free diamonds.
