Foley High’s Lydia Williams is Troy’s official photograper

Before Lydia V. Williams graduated from Foley High School in 2014, she started her own photography business. Her interest in photography first sparked by taking pictures of herself. Her junior year, she enrolled in a class that teaches students how to run their own business. She chose photography as her specialty and Diaography was born. From there, her business grew to cover college events, graduation, weddings, pageants, maternity and engagement shoots. But she did not stop there.
Lydia went on to Faulkner State Community College and was awarded a full scholarship for her photography work. After being accepted to Troy University this fall, she submitted her portfolio and applied for the position as official photographer for the university. She got the job. Her duties at Troy include all official events, organization and club pictures. She is working toward a full tuition scholarship for the remainder of her time at Troy and has purchased a full frame camera to increase her business.
“I’m just really thankful that I was a part of the Young Entrepreneur Academy in high school,’’ she said. I encourage anyone who has a business mindset or wants to start their own business to join the program. It has changed my life in so many ways.’’
