GCAA Art Market, Vegetarian Valentines Dinner, Chancel Choir
among Feb. activities at Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church

February at First Presbyterian Church in Gulf Shores brings a chance to celebrate some of the best things life has to offer: fine arts, fine food and plenty of opportunities for fine fellowship! The Gulf Coast Arts Alliance will cover the visual art realm with over 30 vendors at the Art Market on Saturday, February 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Love will be the theme on Thursday evening, February 14, when Jennifer Hammonds (pictured) will once again amaze folks with her culinary expertise at our special Valentine’s Vegetarian Mindfulness Dinner at 6 p.m. (Tickets and an R.S.V.P. are required for this.)
Music will be in the air on Sunday evening, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. when the Chancel Choir presents their Winter Concert. Directed by Pam Winstead and accompanied by Kayla Dowling, the concert will feature several soloists and everything from traditional to jazzy
gospel favorites.
Ongoing programs at the church include the popular Wednesday Night Dinner & Program, with Pot Luck beginning at 5:30 pm and the program at 6:30 pm. The group is currently exploring a Richard Rohr series. There are several levels of line dancing classes on Mondays and Thursdays; on Tuesday mornings the intriguing BrainSharp class (9:30 am) and Chair Yoga class (10:30 am) take place; Wednesday offers a visual art class at 1:30 pm entitled “Art 101: How to Face A Black Canvas without Fear”. On Mondays and Wednesdays after school, various visual art classes are taught for 4th through 8th graders, as well as a tutoring program, “Homework Haven”.
