Gulf Shores Woman’s Club Sponsors Drug Prevention Poster Contest
Gulf Shores Elementary School students in grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade focused on drug-free, healthy lifestyles during the annual Red Ribbon Week celebrated October 22 – 26. As part of the week’s activities, students participated in a poster contest sponsored by the Gulf Shores Woman’s Club expressing their ideas of the benefits of a drug-free future with a drug and/or alcohol awareness and/or prevention theme, explained school counselors Jennifer Knight and Lyle Cooper, who organized the week’s activities. Representatives of the Gulf Shores Woman’s Club selected two posters from 48 classrooms that exhibited the poster specifications.
