The initial allotment of general admission tickets for the 2017 Hangout Festival at Gulf Shores Public Beach have already been snatched up, and general admission tickets are now being sold for $269. When that allotment is sold out, the price will move to $289.
The festival takes place May 19-21. This year’s lineup features Mumford & Sons, Twenty One Pilots, Frank Ocean, Chance The Rapper (right), Major Lazer, Weezer, DJ Snake and MGMT.
VIP tickets are priced at $1099 and Super VIP tickets at $1599. Shuttle bus tickets ($50) are also currently on sale.
Tickets for the Thursday kick-off party, which last year featured Matt & Kim, Grouplove, Lil Dicky, Big Freedia and Moon Taxi covering Rage Against the Machine, will go on sale “soon’’ at hangoutmusicfest.com at $50 per.
The award winning festival, now in its eighth year, has grown in stature since being overshadowed by the Deep Horizon Oil Spill in year one, has added amenities every year. Attendance is capped at 40,000 and is expected to sell out again this year, as four of the past five festivals have.
The fest is promoted more as a vacation than a concert event. And it is worth noting that in every year, the VIP tickets have been the first to sell out. The festival’s amenities include beach volleyball, carnival rides, Gulf-front hammocks, really good food, clean restrooms, a wedding chapel and numerous water stations.
