Helping Hands Donation Drive For Taylor Wilson March 9
Local teens organize variety show & auction at St. Andrew by the Sea

By Kaysheri Haffner
On Friday, March 9 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Helping Hands will hold a donation drive for Taylor Wilson at St. Andrew by the Sea Church Fellowship Hall, located at 17263 Fort Morgan Rd. in Gulf Shores.
Taylor Wilson is a 20-year-old who has been fighting bravely since she was 12. She was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Acute Lymphoblastic lymphoma in 2012. Then she developed Graft Versus Host Disease right after a bone marrow transplant. She is currently in stage 3 GVHD (her body is fighting itself and is progressively taking over each of her organs). Over 50% of her organs are currently affected.
The drive will be a variety show and will also hold a silent auction. The variety show features many different acts such as South Baldwin Dance Center, Gulf Coast Dance Connection, Wheeles Karate, Andi and Chris Carstens, Barbie Cecil, High School Drama Team, and many more! SherrieLynn Brewer will be the featured pianist.
At 5:30 p.m. there will also be a silent auction featuring many local businesses and artists. You can bid before, during, and after the variety show. The goal is to raise $6,000 for Taylor for travel expenses. If you are unable to make it you can deposit check or cash to any PNC bank in Baldwin County. The account name is Taylor Wilson Donation Drive.
Helping Hands was created by Kaysheri Haffner, a Gulf Shores Middle School Student in 2016. The team includes Lexie Massengale, Lauren Calvert, Emilie Rattner and Emma Collier. She and the Helping Hands Team raised over $5,000 for a seven-year-old boy named Devan Willis in 2017. Feel free to come to the event on March 9 at St. Andrew By The Sea Church to help a good cause and for some family fun!
