Learn about membership in Impact 100 Baldwin County at a membership recruitment event scheduled at Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s (200 East 25th, Gulf Shores) from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11. Impact 100 Baldwin County was established in 2008 by a group of women brought together by Irene Meehan, who had read about similar organizations in Cincinnati and Pensacola. That year, 82 members joined and Impact 100 awarded a single grant of $82,000. In 2017, Impact 100 awarded five grants of $90,000 each, bringing the total given to non-profits serving Baldwin County to over 2.6 million dollars! In addition, last month, Impact 100 Baldwin selected five Baldwin County nonprofit organizations to receive $455,000 in grants. Each of the five nonprofits received $91,000 grants, one in each of Impact’s five focus groups. For more info, call Lucy Smith, 251-961-2408 or 719- 494-7986.
