O’Donnell new director at the very busy Magnolia Springs Library

Melanie O’Donnell has been named Magnolia Springs Public Library’s new library director. This dynamic lady has worked previously as a volunteer. Now, as director, she is making positive changes. O’Donnell has always run a monthly card class that began for young adult patrons, but now the classes are always full with all ages joining in the creative fun and laughter. On Tuesdays, “Knitwits” meet to knit, sew and chatter.
Every Thursday, the Stray Love Foundation brings a cat or kittens to spend the day with us. Many of them have found forever homes.
Saturdays are filled with programs for young people. Mrs. Kathy fills the room with stories, songs and puppets. Recently, she had a Spring Program followed by an Easter Egg Hunt complete with Easter Rabbit.
Genealogy classes meet on a regular basis, and there are a myriad of other programs to include American Girls, Craft Programs and Pet Extravaganzas with Stray Love and Mrs. Gayle Guthrie. Summer Program grows each year with much enjoyment.
Also, of importance each Spring and Fall is the Seed Lending Library where seeds can be checked out, grown, harvested and new seeds shared the following year with other patrons. Got a crowd of guests coming? Check out one of our fishing poles! Best of all, come join us!
The library is located at 12440 Magnolia Ave., Suite 600, in Magnolia Springs. Call 251-965-2305 for more info.Monthly Card Program
