Optimist Club of Perdido Bay presents $18,000 to organizations that help children

Optimist Club of Perdido Bay hosted special guests at a recent Saturday morning breakfast meeting. This was the event that the members enjoy; giving away money and thanking those who helped earn it. At this “Youth Appreciation” event the club distributed approximately $18,000 to organizations that help children. Those who received funding are ARC for Turkeys for Thanksgiving Dinner, Alabama Sheriff’s Ranch, Baldwin County Special Olympics, Baldwin Tech Center, Care House, Ecumenical Ministries, Elberta Elementary School, Elberta Middle School, Foley High and Middle Schools Special Needs. Also, Good Counsel Mary’s Shelter Gulf Coast, Habitat for Humanity, Lillian Athletic Association, Lillian Perdido Bay Library, Lillian Recreational Park, National Flight Academy Scholarship, Optimist International (OI) Childhood Cancer Campaign, OI Childhood Hard of Hearing Program, Robertsdale High School Special Needs. And, St. Benedict School Autism Program, St. Benedict School Technology Program, Starfish Special Olympics Swim Team, Summerdale Elementary School Special Needs, The Refuge for Women, Women and Children Hospital Children’s Cancer Center, and Youth Reach-Gulf Coast.
