Pike comes long way to play pickleball here

David Pike arrived at LuLu’s Homeport Marina in a 15 foot inflatable dinghy powered by a 60 HP Honda on September 6 looking for a game of pickleball. David’s journey began in Grand Haven Michigan and will continue all the way to his final destination at Fort Myers Beach, and he is stopping at every pickleball venue along the way to play a few games.
You can read more about David’s PB Journey and monitor his progress at sixthousandmilesinadinghy.wordpress.com.
Bob Webb, administrator of the Coastal Alabama Pickleball Club, picked Dave up and drove him to the Orange Beach Recreation Center for a morning of pickleball. Bob then hosted David at his home in Foley for lunch and shares stories about his “adventure of a lifetime.”
David is featured on Pickleball Central. He was the player of the month on the Pickleball Rocks website and will be featured in an upcoming article in Pickleball Magazine. While here, he became the 469th person to join the Coastal Alabama Pickleball Club; the 7th largest Club in the U.S.
If you would like to learn how to play pickleball, free lessons are provided on the first Saturday of each month at Lake Osprey RV Resort. Loaner paddles are provided. For more information and to register for free lessons, join the free Local PB Club at coastalalabamapickleballclub.com.
