South Bald. Literacy Council holds Poetry Reading Event

The first round of the South Baldwin Literacy Council’s round-robin style poetry reading was held Nov. 4 at The Drowsy Poet Coffee Shop in Foley. Local poet Mykel Knight reported this was the first event he had participated in where he had the opportunity to read multiple poems.
“We wanted to provide a platform for poets to read as well as allow our community to experience poetry,” said Tammy Vaughn, Executive Director of SBLC. Brian and Stacey Tittle own the Drowsy Poet Coffee Shop, located in the vintage gas station at 218 S. McKenzie St. They plan to host the event with teens in the near future.
