Tacky Jacks’ t-shirt sales raise $2,100 for Al. Gulf Coast Reef & Restoration Foundation

Tacky Jacks Restaurants (Orange Beach, Gulf Shores & Ft. Morgan) got help from the mafia to raise $2,100 for the Alabama Gulf Coast Reef & Restoration Foundation, a local non-profit dedicated to sustaining and enriching both habitat and recreational opportunities in Gulf waters. The mafia in question is the Mobile based Saltwater Mafia T-shirt company, and its godfather is Marvin Day, who designed a t-shirt for Tacky Jacks specifically for the AGCRRF fundraiser. Tacky Jacks then donated $5 from each of those t-shirts, available in its gifts shops, to the local foundation. “Ken (Tacky Jacks’ CFO Ken Kichler) asked me to come up with a dive shirt using a lionfish, and it worked out well,’’ said Day, a Mobile native (Blunt H.S.) who has been in business for more than five years. Kichler said his company has already ordered another shipment of T-shirts and will continue with the fundraiser next season.
