The Frank Brown Internatioal Songwriters Festival committee has already annonced the lineup for the Nov. 9 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Show at 7 p.m. at the Pensacola Museum of Commerce. Tickets are $50 and available at uwf.edu/tickets or by calling 850-474-2406. Proceeds benefit the Larry Butler Memorial Music Scholarship at the University of West Florida.
“This show will be one of the highlights of the festival, and, as you can see, includes some awesome talent, including Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees,’’ said FBISF Director Andy Haynes.
The lineup of Hall of Fame inductees includes:
• Tony Arata: “The Dance,” “Here I Am,” “Dreaming With My Eyes Open,” and “I’m Holding My Own.”
• Thom Schuyler: “My Old Yellow Car,” “A Love Like That,” “Years After You,” “You Can’t Stop Love” and “Nothin’ Like Fallin In Love.”
• Pat Alger: “The Thunder Rolls,” “Unanswered Prayers,” “Small Town Saturday Night,” “Like We Never Had A Broken Heart,” and “Goin’ Gone.”
The concert will also feature hit songwriters:
• Jon Nite: “Smoke,” “Break On Me,” “Tip it on Back,” “Whatever She’s Got,” “We Were Us,” “Beachin,” and “Noise.”
• Josh Osborne: “Come Over,” “Wild Child,” “Merry Go Round,” “Sangria,” and “We Are Tonight.”
• Jimmy Robbins: “Lights Come On,” “Think A Little Less,” and “It Goes Like This.”
Haynes said 225 writers have been invited to play at around 25 FBISF venues from Bon Secour to Gulf Breeze Nov. 3-13.
“Lots of festival favorites returning, but we’re introducing new to the festival songwriters as well,’’ Haynes said.
Other FBISF highlights include free seminars for aspiring songwriters and a youth seminar at Lulu’s at Homeport Marina for 200 school age kids to learn about the craft of songwriting.
“Some of them will write songs to be evaluated by the professionals who will be conducting the seminar,’’ Haynes said.
The festival is an opportunity for writers to have their songs heard, and for the public to learn the stories behind the lyrics.
