The February 4 meeting of the Foley Woman’s Club was filled with excitement, as members also brought in many other donated items to be used for the Club’s raffles and silent auction at the March 14 Mad Hatters’ fund raising event. Mad Hatters’ chair, Kelly Barrett reported that preparations are moving rapidly and that all members must get busy securing donations and selling event tickets. Bo Grant, who sang with the Platters for 17 years ,will be the lead entertainment with various other skits to follow. The famous hat parade and contest will feature some wild creations; so all members and guests are urged to use their originality and prepare and wear a hat. Contest categories will be: Most Creative, Wackiest and Most Glamorous. A fashion show featuring members wearing outfits from Dillards, Chicos and Beach House Boutique will add to the fun. Besides awesome silent auction and raffle items, a $500 Pot of Gold raffle tickets will be sold at the door. The Foley Woman’s Club’s Mad Hatters’ luncheon is truly an enjoyable entertaining event. Tickets are $30 and available until March 11. Contact Chris Anglin at 943-3443 or tickets can be purchased at Checkouts in Foley.
The Foley Woman’s Club began the annual Mad Hatters’ event in 2006. All profits are donated to groups that assist women and children in Baldwin County.
