Two Island men perish after single engine play crash

Two Pleasure Island residents, George Bancroft Marshall, 40, of Gulf Shores and Bradley John Lafleur, 34, of Orange Beach were pronounced dead at the scene following a single engine plane crash in a sod field near Craft Farms Road, west of Baldwin County Road 65 in Bon Secour, according to Baldwin County police. The crash occurred at 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 4, and Saturday of a possible plane crash in the Bon Secour area of Baldwin County, near Foley. The victims were both pronounced dead on the scene and witnesses reported that the plane was attempting to pick up an advertising banner and crashed almost immediately upon lift-off.
The crash is still under investigation.
