Velcro Pygmies at Live Bait Aug. 3-5

The Velcro Pygmies will bring their take-no-prisoners hard rocking show to The Club at Live Bait in Orange Beach for Aug. 3-5 shows beginning around 10 p.m. each night (24281 Perdido Beach Blvd.: 251-974-1612).
Covering the likes of Poison, Van Halen, Aerosmith, KISS, Def Leppard and any other band “that is larger than life,’’ the Kentucky based Pygmies consistently deliver high-energy melody driven, larger than life rock to audiences all through the south. “We take our cues from the actual trenches of rock n roll. People still want David Lee Roth style rock n roll heroes,’’ said Pygmie frontman Cameron Flener. “Bands these days just can’t pull that off so rock’s entertainment value has diminished to virtually nothing.” The Pygmie sound isn’t something that requires a Ph.D. to enjoy. It’s based on subject matter such as Girls, Girls and (you guessed it) Girls. (Joe Phillips photo)
