Afroman at The Undertow
It took only minutes for the yes votes to register and only a few hours for the show to sell out after Undertow Bar & Grill owner Sanford McLain asked posted a question on his personal facebook page: “Considering bringing Afroman Monday April 6. $50 Live Performance w/meet and greet! Would you come?”
In fact, the Orange Beach bistro owner (25025 Canal Rd.) soon added a second show, and that sold quickly sold out as well, proving that local music fans were more than ready to groove with the beats of Afroman’s satirical take on hip hop and rap. Already known for his iconic style and infectious energy, Afroman delivered with electrifying music, dynamic rhythms, and an atmosphere that celebrated the vibrant spirit of hip hop culture. Saucy Fuzz and the Funky Lampshades opened. “What a night! I’ll say again how blessed we are to have had the opportunity to get to open up for Afroman,’’ Mason Henderson posted afterward. “It was so much fun and he was such a laid back dude! And happy to have gotten to share the night with our boys Funky Lampshades.’’
