Alabama: From Territory to State topic of Jan. 15 lecture in Foley

Alabama: From Territory to State is the topic of a Jan. 15 lecture in the Foley Public Library Upstairs Meeting Room (319 E. Laurel Ave.). The lecture starts at 2 p.m.
Mike Bunn, a member of the Alabama Humanities Foundation’s Bicentennial Scholars, will speak in conjunction with the Sweet Home: Alabama’s History in Maps exhibit which will be on display at our library. For more info and to reserve a seat, call 251-943-7665.
Bunn has spoken to dozens of groups, ranging from civic groups and historical societies to a variety of continuing education programs, across the state and beyond on a variety of historical topics. His Bicentennial-focused presentation, “Alabama: From Territory to State” is a fast-moving and richly illustrated presentation which introduces audiences to Alabama’s tumultuous founding era.
Bunn is a public historian who has spent the entirety of his career researching, writing, and speaking about the Deep South’s history and culture. He is author of several books on Alabama history.
