‘Bama will be open during private Kenny Chesney concert
The Flora-Bama has already gone big with Kenny Chesney. The iconic honky-tonk hosted a free beach show attended by 40,000 of Chesney’s best friends that aired live on CMT back in 2014.
But when Chesney returns on April 18 to mark ten years of his No Shoes Radio SiriusXM channel, it will be for an intimate private concert going out live on Sirius at 3 p.m. from the Dome. This is an artist who can easily sell out a football stadium on consecutive nights playing a show from the State Line that will go out to the world. The Dome stage will be well secured, but the rest of the ‘Bama will be open with live music galore.
There are no tickets available for the concert, but the Flora-Bama will open and musicians will start playing at 11 a.m. (21 & older).
Bands will play on the beach stage, main room and tent stage before and after the live broadcast.
Live music will pause on the tent stage and the main room to broadcast Chesney via live feed on a large projector screen.
The party for the sold-out Mullet Man Triathlon will be across the street at the Yacht Club earlier that day, and CoastAL Restaurant is hosting a Friday evening party from 4-7 p.m. that will include music, and giveaways that include tickets to see Chesney at The Sphere.
Chesney has recorded a song about the ‘Bama: “There’s ball caps, photographs, dollar bills and bras / License plates from every state nailed up to the wall. Spring breakers, heartbreakers, already getting’ loud / Talladega’s on the big screen, don’t it make you proud?”
