Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge Nature Walks thru March 27

The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge in Gulf Shores will be offering a series of guided walks covering the topics of: Dynamic Dunes, Birds, Birds & Nature, Marine Ecosystems, and Nature through March 27. The guided tours are limited to 12 people and the talks are limited to 24 people. 24-hours’ notice is asked if you must cancel. Call the Refuge office at 251-540-7720 to book a walk or a talk, or drop into the office at 12295 State Highway 180 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Dates and times will also be available at fws.gov/bonsecour or Facebook. The walks last between 1-4 hours and will meet at the designated trailhead. In case of rain, walks will be cancelled or postponed. March 6 – 10am – CRITTERS OF THE COAST – Meet at Chan West Pine Beach Trailhead; March 11 – 10am – DUNE ECOLOGY WALK – Meet at Mobile Street Parking Lot; March 13 – 10am- LET’S TALK TURTLES – Meet at Mobile Street Parking Lot; March 17 – 10am- SURVIVING IN A HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT: The Importance of Native Plants to the Native Americans and Early Settlers – Meet at Jeff Friend Parking Lot; March 19 – 8am- CENTENNIAL TRAIL NATURE HIKE – Meet at Chan West Pine Beach Trail Parking Lot; March 21 – 10am- VILLIANS VS HEROES IN THE PLANT WORLD – Meet at the Jeff Friend Parking Lot; March 22 – 10am – BEACH FINDS – Meet at the Burgoyne Rd Parking Lot; March 24 – 8am – TAKE A WALK ON THE SANDY SIDE – Meet at the Gator Lake Trail Parking Lot; March 27 – 10am – CRITTERS OF THE COAST – Meet at the Chan West Pine Beach Trail Parking Lot.
