Bubba Ray Celebrates 90th Birthday
Longtime Orange Beach resident Donald (Bubba) Ray celebrated his 90th birthday on April 27 during a celebration at the Orange Beach Community Center with approximately 150 friends and family. Guests came from Michigan, Texas, Tennessee and Florida. Bubba has owned property in Bear Point/Orange Beach since 1965. He owned Ray’s Marine Construction/Excavation for 20 years. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department Board for five years and was instrumental in purchasing the grill (Big Bertha) and the meat cutting trailer used for the Annual Orange Beach Barbeque. He helped with the barbeque until his health failed. He has also served on the Orange Beach Planning Commission and the Personnel Board.
