Children’s shows Nov. 9, 14 & 16 at Southwest Library

Local environmental activists and songwriting team of Jo Billups and Karen Harvill (pictured), working together as Sassafras, will present the ABC’s of ecology for Kids at Southwest Branch Library in Pensacola on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 2-3 p.m. (2248 Gulf Beach Hwy.) The mission of the ABC’S Of Ecology is to educate children about the issues threatening the environment in a fun and entertaining way. The goal is to motivate kids through stories and songs to care for the planet and all living things.
“Our philosophy is that we are guests on this planet and we are given the task to care for it and its inhabitants for many generations to come,’’ said Billups.
Autism Pensacola Awareness @ Southwest Branch Library will feature songwriters Logan Blade, Tommy Mazullo and Tammy Vice on Nov. 14 from 5-6 p.m. in a special show at Pensacola Southwest Library. Logan was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. Though he has little conversation skills, God gave him an amazing voice.
In addition, Huck & lilly will present “There’s a Tree Growing In My Room” at Southwest Branch on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 2-3 p.m. The album of the same name was written, produced and performed by husband and wife team, Ken Johnson and Andi Zack-Johnson (aka Huck & Lilly). It includes an array of different character voices, harmonies, humorous and heartwarming stories and a wide variety of instrumentation.
