City of Foley employee arrested for child pornography
The City of Foley was informed by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office that a city employee, Jeff Scott Phillips, has been arrested for possession of child pornography and first-degree voyeurism. He is being held in lieu of $30,000 bond. According to jail records, he was booked at 8:43 a.m. on July 11. More info: 251-937-0202.
Phillips, 55, is construction project manager in the city’s engineering department, and the city has placed him on administrative leave.
“Our priority is to ensure transparency, accountability, and to uphold the integrity of our City as we learn more,’’ Foley posted in a statement. “These allegations are deeply concerning and do not reflect the values or standards of our city and community.As the matter is a pending investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, no other statement will be available at this time.”
