Dollar General spin-off (pOpshelf ) slated to open in Foley this year

pOpshelf, a new store concept by Dollar General, has leased the former Pier 1 Imports building at 2863 South McKenzie St in Foley and plans to open for business by the end offer year, according to a company press release. A second South Alabama store is under construction on Airport Blvd. in Mobile. More info: pOpshelf.com.
The company plans to evaluate additional areas in the state for future possible store locations.
The vast majority – 95 percent – of poPshelf items are priced at $5 or less that offers customers an affordable and fun shopping experience. Customers can expect a fun, joyful and guilt-free shopping experience as they browse a selection of on-trend seasonal and home décor, health and beauty, home cleaning and party supplies and more.
Each pOpshelf store is expected to create up to 15 new jobs, More info: pOpshelf.com.
The Company currently has plans to open 50 locations i by the end of fiscal year 2021. Its initial two stores were opened near Nashville last year.
“At poPshelf, customers will find a differentiated retail concept that seeks to bring joy to their shopping experiences, with surprising deals in targeted non-consumable product categories. We are excited to welcome customers into these stores,” said Emily Taylor, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer.
Targeted customers are primarily female and are located in diverse suburban communities with a total household annual income ranging from $50,000 to $125,000.
