Foley Elks Club hosts Oct. 16-17 Talent Search

The Foley Elks Club will host a weekend local talent search featuring cash prizes for the winners Oct. 16-17 at its Ave. home base. On Oct. 16 beginning at 5 p.m., solo acts, magicians, stand-up comedians and solo singers will competefor a $300 first place prize. Admission is $5 and contestant registration is $10. The Oct. 17 Battle of the Bands will start at 2 p.m. and award $500, a gig at the Flora-Bama, a 2-hour recording session at Red Room Sound Studio, and a 2-inch analog demo tape to the winner. Admission is $10, and the registration fee for bands is $20.
