Foley Library has new hours and new programs in 2022

Not only will the Foley Public Library have new hours beginning in January 2022 (Mon-Thurs, 9 am – 7 pm; Fri & Sat, 9 am – 5 pm,) but they will have some new programs as well. Along with our regular monthly programs such as Makersaurus Time, the Doki Doki Anime Club, a Saturday movie, and Coffee & Donuts With an Author, the library has a new monthly program and a few stand alone programs, too.
On Fri, Jan 14, @ 6 pm, the library will host its Family BINGO Night which is now held every other month. A small donation is required to acquire bingo cards. The library plays 3 rounds of 5 games each. Prize drawings are held at the end of each round. Back doors open at 5:30 pm to allow entrance for bingo. Reservations are required and can be made online at our library’s website or by phoning Melanie at 251-943-1031.
A new Adult Anime Club will begin at the library on Fri, Jan 21 @ 6 pm. This club is for ages 17 and above. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bite to eat with them and cold drinks will be served. More mature anime (for ages 17 and up) will be watched and discussed. We will be creating club guidelines at this first meeting. Please join us to get in on the ground floor of this exciting new club. No reservations are required at this time.
Mike Bunn will give a presentation on “The Assault on Fort Blakely” on Tues, Jan 25 @ 2 pm in the library’s upstairs meeting room. Reservations are required and can be made online or by phoning Melanie.
Fairhope musician and poet, (pictured) Mike Turner, will give a musical presentation, “Songs of the Gulf Coast,” on Thurs, Jan 27 @ 6 pm. Reservations are required and can be made online or by phoning Melanie.
Turner’s presentation is composed of original songs and the stories behind them, the program draws inspiration from life along Mobile Bay and the Gulf Coast. Historic events like the BP oil spill, the Dauphin Island Race Tragedy, local Legends and Louisiana Hoodoo serve as source material for this unique musical program.
