Foley library to host author Scurto & Swift-Coles Home program

The Foley Public Library will host two July events in the upstairs meeting room of the library that require reservations. Attendees can RSVP online at foleylibrary.org or call 251-943-1031 for more info.
On Wednesday, July 27 @ 10 a.m., Children’s author and illustrator, Andi Scurto (pictured) will speak about her recent publication, The Accidental Adventure of Mattie the Giraffe. She will discuss her work process as well as hosting a Q&A session. Free coffee, cocoa & donuts will be served.
On Tuesday, July 26 @ 2 p.m. John A. Jackson. Jackson will focus on a brief history of the Swift-Coles Home: Tidewater Mansion. The Swift family is the original owners of the home and Nick Coles purchased and restored it in the 1970s. Jackson will also describe some of the activities that Baldwin County undertook to restore the home for the second time as well as some of the interesting personal ghost stories from his time managing the home. The circa 1888 home is now owned and operated by the Baldwin County Historical Development Commission and is open for tours, events, and weddings.
