Foley Sister Cities cookbook signing May 31 at Book Exchange
Foley Sister Cities newest adventure, an international intergenerational cookbook, “Cooking Connects,” will be available for custom autographing during a May 31 booksigning from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at The Book Exchange of Foley, located at 101 W. Laurel Ave. Recipe contributors will be available to sign and share information about their recipes and have samplings of their recipes at two Foley book signing.
In partnership with their Sister City Hennef, Germany, Foley Sister Cities recruited high school students and senior citizens from both cities to create the culinary delight. More than Over 80 recipes, including a family holiday recipe from Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich and his wife Miss Jo, have been gathered and contributed by these participants. The recipes represent the best of each culture and are published in German and English.
Formed as a way to promote cultural, educational, and commercial relationships through international friendship and understanding, the Foley Sister Cities Commission’s motto is “Building Peace Through People.” For more info, call program director (and cookbook editor) Linda Spangrud at 815-978-5976, email her Foleysistercities@gmail.com or visit Foleysistercities.com.
