Gentlemen & Belles mentoring for kids offered in O.B. this Feb.

Beginning in February, the Orange Beach Recreation Center will offer Southern Gentlemen’s & Southern Belle’s Mentoring for young people, ages 10 to 13.
The course is free to all children in the Orange Beach community and will be led by Rec Center Manager Jonathan Langston and his wife, Jessica. Southern Gentlemen’s mentoring will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Southern Belle’s mentoring will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays.
“We want to focus on that critical age where young men and women begin the transition from childhood to adulthood,” Jessica said.
The Gentlemen’s lessons will include: A Gentleman’s Dress Code and Tying Ties
Handshaking, Eye Contact and Presence; Respectful Courtship; Letter Writing and Thank You Cards; Conversation and Appropriate Language; How to Treat a Lady; Grooming; Work Ethic
Meal Preparation; Basic Mending.
The Belle’s Lessons will include: Self Confidence and Poise; Attitude for Success
Appropriate Dress and Accessorizing; Flower Arranging; Letter Writing, Invitations and Responses; Dining Etiquette and Place Settings; Acceptable Conversation Topics; Sewing and Mending; Hors d’oeuvres; Gift Wrapping
“There’s no need to sign up just bring your child with an open mind and the willingness to learn,” Jonathan said.
