Greer’s celebrates five generations customer appreciation days
Greer’s is celebrating five generations as a South Alabama based family business with customer appreciation days on July 12, 19 and 26 at all of its supermarkets. Expect food and fun, kids games, photo ops, buggy bingo, surprises galore and storewide specials.
Back in 1916, Autry Greer opened a grocery store in the Northwest corner of Water and St. Michael Streets. This store was a pioneer in the cash and carry food store concept. Self-service soon followed and evolved to the modern supermarkets in operation nationwide today. It was also the first store in Mobile to advertise prices, which were the lowest in town because other stores sold on credit and delivered.
Five generations later, Greer’s is still owned by the Greer family with 29 stores in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida nd Greer’s Ace Hardware Express locations in Cottage Hill and downtown Mobile, Theodore, Dauphin Island Parkway, Bay Minette and Quitman, MS.
“We love the food business and the opportunity it gives us to serve the people and communities around us. We are all about Southern hospitality, friendly service and bringing our customers the best in food and household items at great values. Whether you shop a Greer’s Market, Greer’s CashSaver or Greer’s Food Tiger you will find the finest quality and our Greer’s Gold Star Customer Service in every store with our 100% Money Back Guarantee on everything you buy,’ the family states on its website.
With a terrific team of 750 people, the Greer’s team enthusiastically continues to improve customer service, values, community involvement and performance. Greer’s mission is to continue to be better in all areas and provide an exceptional experience for those shopping at stores as well as vendor partners.
Since 1916. Greer’s Got It! Greers’ Guarantee It!
