GSPD Chief Ed Delmore steps down after 15 years

Gulf Shores Police Chief Ed Delmore, who has served the city will for the past 15 years, has announced his retirement. The chief will work as a GSPD special investigator until the end of his term in November.
A police officer since first being sworn in back in 1982 in Southwestern Illinois, Delmore has worked as a patrol officer, undercover narcotics investigator, patrol sergeant, watch commander, deputy chief, and chief of police.
“Chief Delmore has been an integral part of our community, leading our police department with honor and integrity. His contributions have been invaluable, and he will be greatly missed,” said Mayor Robert Craft.
Deputy Police Chief Dan Netemeyer will serve as the interim chief.
