Gulf Shores recognized for being bicycle friendly
The League of American Bicyclists has recognized the City of Gulf Shores with a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community award, highlighting the city’s commitment to creating a more bicycle-friendly community.
The award recognizes Gulf Shores’ substantial investments in cycling infrastructure, including the award-winning Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail System. The city has also developed the Baldwin County Bicycle and Pedestrian Connectivity Plan and made significant infrastructure improvements.
“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to making Gulf Shores a safer, more accessible community for cyclists of all ages and abilities,” said G.S. Zoning Director Andy Bauer. “From our extensive trail network to our new infrastructure projects, we’re creating a more connected, sustainable city.”
