Salute to the Services & carnival activities start at 5:30 p.m. at Public Beach
The City of Gulf Shores will celebrate the Fourth of July with a stunning fireworks display, beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday, July 4. Fireworks will be shot from the Gulf State Park Fishing Pier. In addition to the annual fireworks show, a Salute to the Services and carnival-like activities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Public Beach.
Carnival activities include stilt walkers, face painters, balloon artists, a live DJ, snow cones, with the Salute to the Services starting at 7 p.m.
According to organizers, fireworks will be shot from the end of the 1500 foot fishing pier, leaving Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores Public Beach and surrounding areas as ideal locations for spectators.
Gulf State Park’s “Support a Veteran” program allows veterans free sightseeing admission on the pier as well as discounted fishing permits and specials throughout the year.
A $5 parking donations will be collected at the Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion, Gulf State Park Fishing Pier and Lake Shelby Picnic Area on July 4. Collection boxes will also be available at the pier, pavilion and Gulf Shores Public Beach to support the sponsorship program.

The end of the pier will close on Monday, July 4 at 2 p.m. and re-open for business the following morning at 2 a.m.
