Kennedy’s Market to be recreated at Holmes Medical Museum
Artifacts such as pickle barrells, food displays, old pics needed

If you have ever toured the Holmes Medical Museum, in Foley, you have entered the Museum from the first floor, through what used to be Cook’s and then Kennedy’s Market.
The Kennedy Family has graciously donated several items from the actual store as a start to the recreation – a Coca-Cola cooler, store register, food scale, stand on fortune telling scale and comic book rack. But the museum is in need of additional grocery store artifacts to help create the grocery store atmosphere. Items such as food containers, pickle barrels, food display stands, etc would be greatly appreciated. Older pictures of the grocery store are also needed.
Anyone willing to donate such items to the Museum, please contact Museum Director Bill Swanson at bswanson@cityoffoley.org or 251-970-1818. All donations will be appreciated, and evaluated as to whether they will fit into the display.
perhaps, some stories about the Museum and what we are trying to accomplish.
“We are looking to work on several projects for the museum in the next year and the year after,’’ Swanson said. “One of our first projects to to recreate an old grocery store display on the first floor of the Museum. We do have several items coming from the Kennedy family, but could use more items.’’
