Learn about history of Foley at Thursday presentations

The City of Foley sponsored series of presentations about the city’s history continue every Thursday morning through Nov. 21. Attendees will meet on the east side of the Depot Museum and Model Train Exhibit (125 E. Laurel Ave. in downtown Foley) at 10 a.m. Admission is free for the 20-30 minute talk, which will be followed by a question & answer session. The presentations include pictures of historic downtown and walking brochures. In the event of inclement weather, the presentation will be moved to the City Hall Council Chambers. Legends & Lore is the topic for Jeanette Bornholt’s Oct. 31 presentation. Dan Hamburg will speak about the importance of agriculture to Foley on Nov. 7. Downtown Treasures is the topic of a Nov. 14 presentation featuring Jack Baber of the Depot Museum and Bill Swanson of the Holmes Museum. Bornholt returns for the final presentation on Nov. 21 – Military Importance: Prisoner of War camps.
