Light Up Orange Beach offering cash prizes

The Orange Beach Garden Club will again offer cash prizes to winners in its Light Up Orange Beach competition. The club is asking for Orange Beach residents to participate by decorating and lighting up their homes and/or businesses during the holiday season as part of the Orange Beach Coastal Christmas Initiative.
Judging is based on several criteria: curb appeal, creative use of decorations, use of lighting, originality and effective use of area.
Residential winners will receive cash prizes. In the second category for commercial, condominiums and businesses, the winners will recieive awards, certificates of merit, signage for their property and bragging rights.
Members of the Orange Beach Garden Club will conduct their Light Up Orange Beach judging Dec. 16-19. Cash residential prizes (1st place – $100, 2nd place – $50, 3rd place – $25) are being donated by the Orange Beach Garden Club. To nominate the home of a friend or neighbor, contact Orange Beach City Hall at 251-9816979 and provide an address.
