Local artist judged best in mixed media at Art in the Pass
Innerarity’s Tony Krysinsky takes top prize at Mississippi Fest

Innerarity Point artist Tony Krysinsky took first place in mixed media at the 21st annual Art in the Pass fine arts and crafts festival held last month in Pass Christian.
“We were really drawn to Tony’s free wheeling, vibrant coastal scenes,” said Betty Sparkman, chair of the event.
Now in its 21st year, Art in the Pass was created both to support art education and expand and enhance Pass Christian and Mississippi Gulf Coast’s reputation as an arts-oriented community for artists and art lovers. Proceeds from Art in the Pass support art programs and scholarships on the Hancock and Harrison Counties. This year, Art in the Pass awarded $12,000 in scholarships to high school seniors intending to pursue an art related major in college. Art in the Pass also gave $750 each to seven high schools and will donate $3,000 to the Pass Christian School District and $1,000 to Boys and Girls clubs.
The other artists who were recognized at the festival are Mississippi artists Lisa Watson and Carol Ellis, first in pottery; Spencer Gray, Jr., a Mississippi mixed-media artist, first in the “other” category; Louisiana jewelry designer Andrea Wilkes-Jones, first in jewelry; Mississippi artist Alexander Brown,, first in wood working; Louisiana artist Odie Tucker, first in painting; and Mississippi photographer Randy Hall, best in show overall.
