Military Spouses Enjoy Evening Of Art With Talis
Local artist and teacher Talis Jayme hosted military spouses for an evening of paint and wine at her gallery at Villagio on Perdido Key, Artworks Studio & Gallery last Thursday. Captain Nick Hamilton, Monthly Unit Readiness Coordinator with the Marine Aviation Training Support Group of Pensacola NAS arranged with Talis for the
group of 11 ladies to get their creative juices going to paint a seasonal decoration in acrylic on canvas. Talis provided instruction, inspiration and all the materials. Talis offers weekly art lessons at Artworks as well as hosting groups for all ocassions. She recently received the 2019 Community Service Individual Award by the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce for her vast contribution to Perdido/Pensacola; she has been instrumental for years in fostering local artists and providing a venue to create and share their work with the public. Her gallery is a regular venue for The Frank Brown Songwriters Festival each November. Each month one of 16 resident artists is featured with special demonstrations; Candi Randolph is January’s artist of the month featuring her Mandala art. Artworks Studio & Gallery is at 13700 Perdido Key Dr at Villagio Shopping Centre. More info: 850-261-9617. Pictured: Military spouses display their works of art.
