Nagini released near Perdido Pass after 16 days of rehab

An injured juvenile Kemp’s ridley, now named Nagini, was rescued on June 4 by Mike Reynolds and John Butterick of Share the Beach, and released on June 20 around an excited crowd at Shell Beach near Perdido Pass in Orange Beach. Share the Beach, Alabama’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program, was contacted by an angler after Nagini was accidentally hooked. The circle hook was safely removed by Gulfarium Care staff. See the video of Nagini’s release on the City of Orange Beach’s Facebook page. For more information on Share the Beach, visit alabamaseaturtles.com.
