New Home for Romar Beach Baptist Church

New Home for Romar Beach Baptist Church

When you’re looking for Romar Beach Baptist Church, don’t look on Romar Beach. You won’t find it.
After the horrible season of Covid and the devastation of Hurricane Sally, the church has a brand new home at 25326 Canal Rd in Orange Beach. (Formerly the Columbia Southern University/Waldorf College Bldg.) The new name, soon to come, will be Canal Rd. Baptist Church to coincide with the new location.
Not only does the church have a new home but they have a new call, a new vision, a new excitement and even a new pastor.
Jerry Peebles, who for the last 20 plus years has been the pastor of Oyster Bay Baptist Church in Gulf Shores, assumed the role as Sr. Pastor at Romar October 1st of 2022. Jerry and his wife Oma are the parents of 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
After years of challenges, heartaches, and great perseverance the church now stands ready to be a community church that reaches all ages, all cultures, and all who need a church home.
In addition to the pastor, Chris Fowler continues as the Associate Pastor/ Minister of Music. He and the pastor have been friends for over 30 years and are truly excited about serving together in the new location.
“God has sustained this church through literally ‘hell and high water,’’ Pastor Peebles said. “Great days are ahead and we look forward to serving Orange Beach and the surrounding area as messengers of the Love of God. We pray many will join us in this mission.”
Services at the current Romar Beach Baptist Church, soon to be Canal Rd Baptist Church, begins each Sunday with Bible Study at 9:45 am and Worship at 11 am. Wednesday’s Midweek Service is at 6 pm followed by Choir Rehearsal at 7 pm.
In addition to these services, a Community Bible Study for Sr. Adults takes place on Tuesday mornings at 10 am in the Fellowship Wing of the building. You can find all current updates and events on their Facebook page, Romar Beach Baptist.
The church looks forward to seeing old friends and making new ones in this new location…not at the beach but Canal Rd.
