O.B. schools earn Alabama Safe Schools Award
Orange Beach Middle & High School has been named a recipient of the Alabama Attorney General’s Safe Schools Award for the second consecutive year, an elite honor recognizing schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to safety, preparedness, and student well-being.
Schools are evaluated on emergency preparedness, coordination with local law enforcement and emergency responders, staff training, and the effective use of safety technology. Orange Beach Middle & High School again distinguished itself by demonstrating excellence across all areas of review. The Initiative features a rigorous four-phase application and evaluation process designed to assess comprehensive safety measures.
“Receiving the Safe Schools Award for the second year in a row speaks volumes about the commitment of our staff, students, and community partners,” said Principal Chris Shaw. “Safety is not a one-time achievement; it’s an ongoing priority. I’m incredibly proud of the intentional work our team does every day to ensure we remain a safe place for learning.”
