O. B. Softball Makos are chasing 5 in ‘25

The Amazing Makos from Orange Beach High School will seek a fifth consecutive Class 4A title during this week’s Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) state softball tournament in Oxford. The top eight teams from regional tourneys across the state are competing in the double-elimination event to determine champions in seven classifications.
The Makos are competing with Curry, Alexandria, first round opponent West Blocton, American Christian, Satsuma, Plainview and Hamilton. The championship game is May 15 at 5 p.m.
The Makos beat Opp 11-1 in regional play at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex to advance to the state tourney. The Makos beat Satsuma 10-1 to earn the Class 4A Area 1 title. The Opp in was the 14th in a row and 43rd against just two losses. The Makos have won 34 games by six runs or more this season.
The Makos have won state championships in all four years the school has existed and is the defending MaxPrepsnational champion after going 46-1 and winning three times against other MaxPreps top-10 teams. Makos Daigle Wilson, Kaylee Grace Favors, Kaitlynn Robertson and Justine Henderson have already signed college scholarships.
