Perdido Bay Optimist Essay Contest Winners
The Optimist Club of Perdido Bay honored its essay contest winners at a recent breakfast meeting. The theme was “How Optimism Has Paved My Road to Success.” The club winner will have the opportunity to advance to the district contest to compete for a $2,500 college scholarship funded by the Optimist International Foundation. Pictured: This year’s winners are First Place, Mackenzie Sullivan who received a Gold Medal and a $150 cash prize. Second Place was Josiah Marquez who received a Silver Medal and $100 cash prize. Third Place was Ryleigh Fogus who received a Bronze Medal and $50 cash prize. All three students attend Elberta High School.  Also pictured are Elberta High English teacher Jessi Ledlow, Essay Contest Chair Tay Randall, OCPB President Robin Newell and EHS Counselor Laura Alms.
