Perdido Optimist Educators of the Year

Perdido Optimist Educators of the Year
The Optimist Club of Perdido mission is to “Bring Out the Best in Kids.” Recently the club honored teachers who have shown that they are striving for the same goals. Honorees for “Educator of the Year” are Kimberly Therber, Elberta Elementary School; Christa Goodwin, Elberta Middle School; Matthew Hurst, Elberta High School; Mary Lazzari, St. Benedict Catholic School. Each teacher received a monetary award to use in the effort to provide the best for local students. The Optimist Club members work with the schools in Elberta, reading to kindergarten and first grade classes, tutoring and mentoring.
