Russian songsters at GSUMC Dec. 9

A musical treat is once again in store for area residents. ChoRuss, a professionally conservatory-trained quartet from Russia, will be in concert at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church sanctuary on Sunday evening December 9 at 7pm. There is no charge for the concert, however a love offering will be taken. Reserved seating will be available for concert season sponsors.
This is the third ChoRuss visit to the US and to Gulf Shores, singing to rave reviews here as well as in a number of other US churches. Their repertoire spans a wide variety of traditional Russian Orthodox Christian melodies as well as classical, folk music and Christmas songs.
ChoRuss has toured extensively through Europe as well as the US, recently completing a successful fall tour of the Netherlands. The group was established in 2012 and their artistic director, Dmitri Petrov, has worked
with a number of outstanding Russian conductors. All ChoRuss members are professional singers and teachers at the St. Petersburg Russian conservatory. An interesting side note about the group is that their CD can now be found on the International Space Station. For further details, contact the GSUMC office at 251-968-2411
