Salute to American Independence July 4 at Ft. Morgan
Fort Morgan’s Salute to American Independence will be held on July 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Morgan State Historic Site (110 Hwy. 180, Gulf Shores) in Gulf Shores. The salute will feature historical interpreters dressed in period uniforms of the United States Army from different eras of the fort’s occupation. Interpretors will lead will special guided tours throughout the day. Artillery, small arms and other demonstrations will show the complexities that have faced the military garrison life at the Fort. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors (65+), $4 for children (6-12), and free for ages 5 and under. Family passes (2 adults/2 children) are $18.
